Mt Everest Summit

On May 25th, 2008, Canada West Mountain School Owner and Lead Guide Brian Jones summitted Mount Everest along with fellow CWMS Guide John Furneaux and CWMS Team Member Sebastien Sasseville. They were accompanied by 4 Climbing Sherpas from the Khumbu region.

This short clip shows Brian Jones and Sebastien Sasseville on the summit. Sebastien is the 1st Type-1 Diabetic from Canada to climb Mount Everest.

This is a video taken while crossing a crevasse on a ladder in the Khumbu Icefall while climbing Mount Everest.

There are more than 30 ladders to be crossed while ascending Everest! While team members are secured to safety lines, this is still a very precarious and often memorable section of the climb.
