Team is in the Baksan Valley

Our team has arrived in the Baksan Valley at the base of Elbrus a few days back and have been slowly acclimatising and getting ready for the climb in a few days. One member (Peter Cardwell) has had his baggage delayed, but fortunately they have been able to fully outfit him. Otherwise, everyone has been doing well.

They have completed two acclimatisation climbs so far - one up towards the Terskol Glacier and the local Observatory at 3,300 meters, and another to Cheget at 3,500 meters. Tomorrow (July 10) the team will head up to the "Barrels" at 3,700 meters.

Communications out of the Baksan Valley are still a bit of a challenge, but we'll post updates as soon as we get them.
