Winter Course Program 07/08
Our Winter Course Program includes our Avalanche Safety Courses, providing a full range of Avalanche Safety training for individuals and groups, from introductory Avalanche Safety Training to Advanced Avalanche Safety for skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, snowmobilers and climbers.

Our popular Winter Climbing Program includes Ice Climbing Courses for all levels of climbers, as well as Winter Alpinism and Mountaineering instruction.

Join one of our Backcountry Ski touring courses and enjoy an overnight ski touring adventure while learning how to build Igloos and travel safely in backcountry terrain!

All of our Instructors are highly-experienced professional guides, leaders and teachers that bring a wealth of experience to all our programs to ensure that students get the most value from their courses. Every instructor in our Winter Program is trained and certified by the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA), has Advanced First Aid Certification and, most importantly, has a passion for teaching.

Winter isn't only about Backcountry Skiing and Ice Climbing though - we also run a variety of exciting International Mountaineering Expeditions to remote destinations during the winter months. Check out our Expeditions page for information on trips this winter such as climbing expeditions to Vinson Massif in January of 2008, or Aconcagua, also in January of 2008; or, an adventure ski mountaineering on Mt. Logan in Canada's Yukon in May!

CWMS has been offering winter and summer mountain safety training courses for 25 years! Not only will you learn the skills you are looking for, but you will also have a great time while you're at it!
