Introductory Wilderness First Aid2010
(20 hours, 2 days)

This is an introductory course to wilderness first aid focusing on general medical concepts and basic life support skills. Students will learn to use and improvise first aid supplies. This course is targeted to outdoor enthusiasts who participate on day or weekend trips.

This course runs over two full-day sessions with an optional evening session for those interested in obtaining certification in CPR (C) with AED for an additional cost. There is no re-certification for this course.

Location
This Introductory Wilderness First Aid Training Course is based in our classroom in West Vancouver, BC. Both days are held at our training room 8 am to 4 pm.

Practical outdoor training sessions will take place in a local park near to our classroom.

When you register you will be given directions to the traiining room.

Instructors
All of our Wilderness First Aid course are taught by Dr. John Peachell and Shelley Secord, who are the owners and lead instructors of Wilderness Medical Consultants.

Both Instructors are not only excellent 1st Aid Instructors, they are also active climbers, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts who know what it is like to be in a remote wilderness environment on a regular basis!

Logistics
The Introductory Wilderness First Aid course will start promptly at 8 am on the first day of the course in West Vancouver, BC. There will be a 1-hour break for lunch, and the course will end at approx. 5:00 pm each day.

Parking is available.

The course will be split between classroom and field sessions, please come prepared for conducting field simulations outdoors in all weather conditions.
