Squamish Mountain Festival: A Celebration of Climbing Culture
July 11 to July 15, 2012
Squamish Mountain Festival, a five-day celebration of all things rock, including the Squamish Mountain Film Festival featuring four nights of films and speakers on a range of mountain adventure subjects.
One of this year's highlights is the screening of “The Man Who Can Fly,” a new film about the legendary climber and BASE jumper Dean Potter and his quest to jump off the 9,000 foot granite wall of Mount Bute, located at the head of Bute Inlet north of Squamish.
Opening night's title event is Squamish Rocks! presenting six speakers on why Squamish is the best place in the world to play, live and climb.
Canada West Mountain School is a proud sponsor of the Squamish Mountain Festival.
Tickets available from Valhalla Pure in Squamish and the retail store in the Squamish Adventure Centre. Visit The Squamish Mountain Festival website to view the full schedule and book online: http://www.squamishmountainfestival.com/

Canada West Mountain School celebrates 30 years!
Our first programs were offered in 1982. At that point, Canada West Mountain School was run by the "Safety and Education Committee" of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia.
After 30 years of leading the way in Mountain Safety instruction in BC, we are still committed to the founding principles that reflect back to our roots.
Quite simply, our goal is to provide the highest quality guiding and instruction services with an emphasis on self-sufficiency and safety. We started our programs in 1982 with that goal, and it is still an equally strong mandate for Canada West Mountain School as we head into 2012.
